Meet Our Board Members

Bob Gunther bioTrustee

Bob was born and raised in southwest Minnesota, where his family farmed for many years and his father was also a rural mail carrier. He graduated from SW Minnesota State University and immediately began his career in an independent insurance agency in Marshall, MN. He would spend the next 42+ years in the insurance and banking industry, ultimately becoming the President/CEO of a small community bank in his hometown area for 10+ years. During his career in insurance and banking, he served on many local boards, as well as many statewide boards related to those industries. He also served on local and regional economic development boards. Bob retired in December of 2019 and recently retired from the Southwest Minnesota State University Foundation after 30 years of service. He and his spouse, Jill McCartney, moved to Gambier in July of 2018, as Jill began her employment at Kenyon College. He currently serves as Secretary of the Rotary Club of Mount Vernon, is a member of Pheasants Forever, and enjoys the many outdoors activities offered by Knox County and Ohio, as well as Kenyon sports. He has two adult children living in Minnesota.
