This November, every Tuesday, we’ll be showcasing a Grantor and their story of why they chose to partner with Owl Creek Conservancy to protect their land.
Here’s the 4th installment of our ‘Giving Tuesday Grantor Series’ with Jerry Simpson showcasing his easement, known as Jerry Simpson.
Jerry Simpson has fond memories of deer hunting in Knox County. Although his 30+ protected acres are unsuitable for deer hunting, he made a significant contribution in 2005 by donating 32 acres of farmland, grassland, a stream, and a pond on Hopewell Road in Harrison Township, Knox County, to the community. When he decided to conserve his land, he intended to preserve a pristine area free of houses. Through his easement with Owl Creek Conservancy, he has ensured that his part of Knox County is kept free from inappropriate development. He expressed his desire by stating, “I just wanted to leave it.”
Do you like to take a 'Sunday drive' to enjoy the beautiful unspoiled countryside views? If so, please consider donating today to help us keep the rural charm of Knox County free from inappropriate development.
