Helping shape the future of Mount Vernon

The Knox County Area Development Foundation, along with the Knox County Commissioners, Regional Planning, and the City of Mount Vernon, has initiated the process of updating the County’s Comprehensive Plan. This plan will project a 5 to 10-year vision, helping to determine how our communities will develop and highlighting aspects that are vital to preserve. Local governments and associated organizations will utilize this plan for project, budgetary, and growth planning. On August 22, trustees and easement grantors from the Owl Creek Conservancy and Philander Chase Conservancy convened with Jeff Gottke from the Area Development Foundation to share their insights and ensure their input is considered in the county's planning process.
