  • Make plans to join us for the 7th Fire and Ice after a two-year hiatus.  This spectacular and magical event coincides with Knox County’s FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY (FFTH).  Catch a shuttle at the church and be ready to be delighted, entertained and mesmerized by the over 600 luminaria at the Honey Run Waterfall – one of Knox County’s most spectacular natural gems!  Bring canned food items and/or a monetary donation (accepted at the Church parking lot) for the FFTH drive.  We thank you for helping our neighbors and friends in need!

    Dress for the weather conditions and sturdy walking shoes are recommended.

BLADENSBURG OLD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Take OH 586 (Martinsburg Road) south out of Mount Vernon. After 10.6 miles, turn right onto North Market Street, then after 0.1 mile turn left onto OH 541. Drive for 3.9 miles to 25821 New Guilford Road (on the left).

BROWN FAMILY ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER: Take SR 229 east to Laymon Road. [SR 308 turns left at this intersection.] Turn right and go southward 0.5 miles to parking lot on the right.

HONEY RUN HIGHLANDS:  Take SR 36 east out of Mount Vernon about 11 miles to Millwood.  Turn right onto Bridge Street.  Turn left to stay on Bridge Street.  Turn right onto SR 62/Millersburg Road and drive about a mile.  10816 Millersburg Road, Howard, 43028.

HONEY RUN WATERFALL:  Take SR 36 east out of Mount Vernon about 11 miles to Millwood.  Turn right onto Bridge Street.  Turn left to stay on Bridge Street.  The road name changes to Hazel Dell Road.  Stay on Hazel Dell Road just over a mile.  Park at the Honey Run Highlands parking lot.  10865 Hazel Dell Road, Howard, 43028.

LAYMON ROAD CANOE ACCESS: Take SR 229 east to Laymon Road. [SR 308 turns left at this intersection.] Turn right.  The canoe access is on the right.

THAYER RIDGE PARK: Take SR 36 west out of Mount Vernon about four miles.  Turn left onto Thayer Road.  The park is one mile on the right. 7077 Thayer Road, Mount Vernon, 43050.

WOLF RUN REGIONAL PARK: Take SR 36 east to the traffic light at Upper Gilchrist Road.  Turn right onto Upper Gilchrist Road and drive to the first intersection.  Turn left onto Yauger Road.  The parking lot on the left.  17621 Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, 43050.
