Did you know …
- The scenic Kokosing River starts in Mount Vernon, Ohio and flows through several counties, including Knox, Richland, and Morrow, before eventually joining the Mohican River.
- It was designated the first water trail in the state of Ohio in June of 2005 by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
- The Kokosing River twists and turns approximately 57 miles through beautiful leafy canopies, awe inspiring sandstone cliffs, deep pools, short rapids and riffles.
- Known for its scenic beauty, the Kokosing River meanders through picturesque landscapes, including wooded areas and gentle rolling hills. This makes it a wonderful place to spend the day fishing, canoeing, or even kayaking!
- The Kokosing River and its surrounding habitat supports diverse wildlife, including various fish species like smallmouth bass, rock bass, and channel catfish. It is also home to numerous bird species and other wildlife.
